Photography Brochure Assignment

The photography brochure assignment will act as a form of evaluating your understanding of both the photographic processes and the desktop publishing process. Your completed brochure will include work created with the pin hole camera, a 35 mm single reflex camera and a digital camera. The brochure design will incorporate skills learned in the newsletter design and layout design assignment and the text of the brochure will reflect your understanding of the photographic processes.

Follow these steps in creating your brochure.

Step 1 KO & TO 10

Research the history of photography and pinhole cameras. Summerize and include this research in your brochure for the pinhole camera.

Incorporate your logo design for your pinhole camera in the brochure.

Step 2. CO 10

Collect the images created with your pin hole camera and your camera as well. and create a design of a brochure on paper, that can be used as a promotional flyer advertising pin hole photography. The design of the brochure should reflect an understanding of layout techniques and the final design should be a two fold brochure.

Step 3. AO 10

Re-photograph the various images in digital format and transfer the images to the computer. Using Adobe photoshop enhance and manipulate the images. These will then be used in the assembly of the brochure.

Using Adobe Illustrator, set your art board set up to horizontal, 8.5 x 11 inches and select use page set up. Place the art work and add titles and text. The text should reflect your understanding of the photographic process in detail. Describe what you did starting with the construction of the pin-hole camera to the processing of the actual prints in the darkroom.

Check your spelling and add colour, bounding boxes and lines to create an interesting design, reflecting what you envisioned in your preliminary plan outlined in step 1.
