Part A.
Select any product that you wish to promote, either one that already exists, or one that is imaginary; a product whose size is such that it can easily be carried. Make three drawings of the object, one Isometric View, one Orthographic View and one Perspective View. All three drawings should include dimensions. All drawings should be done on one sheet of paper each and rendered in full colour.
Part B.
For the product chosen in Part A design a package that best advertises and presents the product. Begin by making both an Isometric and Orthographic drawings on the computer. Include all dimensions and render each in full colour.Keep in mind that this is a three dimensional design.
Part C.
Once you have completed the design and are satisfied with your design, construct the package in actual size and cover with a printing of the colour wrapping for the box. Glue the wrapper over the cardboard to create the actual box display for the product.
Part
D.
The product and package of Parts A, B, and C must now be advertised. You are to design a full page magazine advertisement to promote this product. Your ad is to include a photograph of the product or packaging. Look at various magazine advertisements to see how photography is used ito sell the product idea (Ôthe messageÕ). Create a layout for your advertisement and by hand illustrate where and how the photograph is to appear in these sketches. Your layout is to include a major heading/slogan, sub-headings, text graphic and company logo (scanned or created). The Ad is to be created totally on the computers and printed in a final comprehensive. Your design is to be in full colour and the border is to be 1.5cm.
The graphic is to entirely created by digital photography. No scanned images are allowed (unless they are hand drawn first). The photo may be modified using the photoshop program to suit the needs of the Ad concept. You may
Take the photo image from Part C and make sure it is inserted into the adÕs graphic.
