Brochure Design Assignment
Assignment: Develop a brochure publicizing the Communication Technology course, which focuses on the four units, special equipment and programs available and other promotional information about the course.

The
brochure should include original ideas in the basic features of a brochure:
Logo
Design
Information
Font
Selection
Graphics
Layout
Design
The logo for the Com-Tech Course should be
original and incorporate both literal and visual information merged into a single,
simple design. The elements of the
logo should include the basic communication factors: Communication
Factor, Appearance, Meaning, Simplicity and Presence. The logo should be
developed on a separate Illustrator page and transferred to the brochure.
The
type font and colour should blend with the other elements of the brochure. The
text should discuss the basic components of each of the units: Graphic Design, Animation, Video
Production and Website Design. All
pertinent information about Father Redmond CSS, location and particulars, and
an overall description of the course in terms of expectations, requirements,
etc. should be written clearly and edited.
Typography should be clear and concise. The appropriate font type selection
that compliments the overall brochure, colour selection, font size variations,
titles, subtitles, borders, font imagery, or other effects designed to make the
brochure appealing would enhance the overall design.
Graphics should be either photo imagery, design
graphics, illustrations and most visuals designed to make the brochure
interesting and appealing. Proper
layout design of graphic should enhance, not interfere with the other components
of the brochure design.
The layout should be dynamic in character and
present an orderly, appealing, colourful and compelling promotional impact
concerning the Com-Tech course.
The brochure must be done on Adobe Illustrator
and may be either a bi-fold or tri-fold layout done with a landscape format.
(8,5 x 11 in.). The brochure will be created on two Illustrator pages
demonstrating both front and back of the brochure. All contents should be
original in design. The order of pages are shown below:

Knowledge: Use of textual information on course, unit
descriptions, etc. Layout components. (10)

Application: Use of technology to create an effective design using
brochure elements. (10)
