Gum bichromate is a 19th-century photographic printing process based on the light sensitivity of dichromates.
It is a process wherein a mixture of gum arabic, a photo-sensitive dichromate, and watercolor pigment is brushed on paper and exposed to light under a large negative.
It is capable of rendering painterly images from photographic negatives.
This gum-bichromate photograph includes an augmented reality element that, by scanning the QR code with a mobile device,
immerses the viewers into an immersive digital realm.

Watercolours on newspaper clippings with an augmented reality feature, was selected as an awardee of BitBasel’s Crypto Art for Impact and Innovation Challenge and was accepted to the Lunaprise Moon Museum project. The Lunaprise mission involves taking music and art projects to the moon as digital twins of artwork on Earth, where they will be archived for 1+ billion years in vaults on the moon.
It was curated for the Lunaprise Museum, organized by Space Blue to be the world’s first time-capsule and art museum on the Moon.
The Lunaprise Museum, featuring a Nanofiche disk showcasing artworks from over 222 global artists, was launched on February 15th, 2024, from Cape Canaveral and landed on the moon’s southern surface at 6:30 PM EST on February 22.
